I decided on our flight back from New York, I wanted to book a Spa Break somewhere because as beautiful as it was in New York, it absolutely exhausted us!
We all know, a holiday to New York isn’t really the most relaxing holiday. We were on our feet from 8am – 11pm most nights, constantly walking for miles and miles around the city.
And because it was our first time there, we were being the typical tourists exploring all the city’s famous landmarks, whilst carrying all our bags, cameras and snacks around with us for hours.
| THE HOTEL
So, when I got back I did my research online, and Googled where were I could find the best spa up north.
Luckily I stumbled across this website, The Good Spa Guide which made it really easy to pinpoint spas in your particular area.
Their reviews are really in depth and informative, with loads of gorgeous pictures to go along with it – so I would really recommend having a browse through their directory too!
From there, I decided to go with The Spa Hotel, which is near Preston, Lancashire. They have a 5 star rating on The Good Spa Guide, so I wanted to give you my review of the spa experience!
The package I went for was called the ‘Luxury Spa Break’ from £131pp, which included an overnight stay, breakfast, dinner, full access to the spa and a 25min back massage.
Luckily the weekend we went, we had the most amazing weather. I used my Olympus Pen camera with the kit lens, for all these pictures and they turned out really well!
The sky was really that blue!
| THE SPA
The main reason why I chose this spa was because of the pool. It has 2 swan neck pipes that blasts out water, which is suppose to help massage any neck and shoulder problems, and there are also loads of high pressure underwater jets, to provide a hydro massage experience – it was so so good!
Also in the spa area, there are alot of rooms that make up this ‘Aqua Thermal Journey’, this includes an aroma room, aroma steam room, saunarium, Balinese salt inhalation room, herbal sauna, outdoor rustic sauna, Roman pedidarium, tepidarium, outdoor spa pool, hydrotherapy pool and monsoon showers.
So basically alot of different rooms, that get hotter and hotter further down the line. I could only do halfway before it got too hot for me, but Simon loved it and managed to complete the whole 2hr journey!
| WHAT I WORE
Ok so I didn’t anticipate to be ‘bikini ready’ this early on in the year, but I did my best with what I had! haha
The BLACK BIKINI is from Little Mistress, and I loved wearing this one! The material is super stretchy and supportive so I would size down, and because it has a zip at the back, it’s actually very easy to get into – plus it looks blimmin hot!
The next one I took with me, is a 2pc from Triangl, and this one is called the BRIGITTE – BLUE MUSK – again I loved wearing this one too, both so easy and comfortable to wear!
| THE ACCOMMODATION
We only stayed for one night, but the room they gave us was massive, there was even a separate bath and shower area in the bathroom!
And the complementary toiletries were all from Elemis – loved it!
| THE FOOD
The food was absolutely delicious from the cute tiny pastries and egg benedict at breakfast, to the mouth watering sweet desserts at dinner!
Note: I did have a proper meal at dinner, but the desserts were the prettiest to take pictures of!
| THE GROUNDS
The Spa Hotel was situated within it’s own beautiful little village in the Lancs, where it had it’s own little shops, restaurants, leisure centres and even their own Starbucks!
Think of it like Center Parcs.
It was so peaceful and calm, and the weather was absolutely perfect, the countryside views were stunning!
So we had a little wander around their grounds, before we lost the rest of the day to the hot tub.
I would definitely come back again to this Spa Hotel. You are well looked after right from the beginning, the rooms are gorgeous, and you can easily escape in the spa area for hours!
I hope this has been helpful for you, I can easily say this is the best spa up north for me!
Also this post isn’t sponsored, I paid and booked for it all on my own
Let me know if there are any other spas that you’ve been to that I should try! x
