| TOP 10 MEMORABLE MOMENTS OF MY SUMMER
As we’re coming to the end of Summer and the days are getting colder and darker, I wanted to reflect on some of the more memorable moments I’ve experienced over the last few months.
1. I GOT A NEW ASSISTANT
The beginning of this year got really really busy at work, with more brands to look after, more fashion campaigns to implement, all whilst trying to keep on top of continuous new features and updates from Google – so we decided to get me an assistant to help out!
Rachel started at the beginning of June and I don’t know how I’ve coped without her!
Here’s a POST that goes more into my day job
2. AND I GOT PROMOTED
Hate to blow my own trumpet and everything, but you’ve gotta celebrate your wins and be your own biggest cheerleader!
It wasn’t an easy road to progression though, with many late nights, stressful meetings, mountains of reports, hundreds of emails, and I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve been like, ‘seriously wtf is this!?’
But if you stick it out, people will recognise all the hard work you’ve put in
3. I’VE GONE BLONDER
I started my ‘go blonder’ journey right at the beginning of the year. Probably prompted by the whole ‘new year, new me’… more like ‘fuck I’m getting older and what have I done with my life so far! panic!’
I think I’ve done 4 rounds of Balayage so far, and I’ve managed to pass the dreaded warm orange stages, and now I’m finally into the ash blonde colours, yay!
4. I DID A BIG PRESENTATION
I’m not the biggest fan of presentations, I don’t mind it to a small group of people but when I got asked to present to about 100 people, I was dreading it!
There were definitely a few late nights to gather all the content together, and numerous hours practising and re-practising what I was going to say, but it all went well in the end! And I also experienced a massive adrenaline rush at the end! haha how very strange
5. I DISCOVERED A NEW COFFEE SHOP
I’ve lived in Manchester my whole life, and I used to live in the city for years whilst I was uni. But since I’ve moved 30 mins out of the city, I only get to wander around at the weekends.
If you’ve never been to Manchester before, there’s a area called The Norther Quarter that is constantly popping up with new bars, quirky restaurants and coffee spots.
So I’ve made it my mission to try as many new places as I can, and during one of my weekends I discovered an amazing coffee place called TAKK, I was so impressed I even did a quick review on it!
6. I DOWNLOADED AND DELETED POKEMON
When Pokemon came it out, it was literally the best thing ever! I re-lived my childhood, we reminisced on all the original Pokemons, Youtubed all the Pokemon songs with lyrics so we could sing along, and spent our lunches, evenings, weekends catching Pokemon.
Seriously, I was obsessed.
But then the novelty wore on when all I was finding were Pidgeys, Rattatas, and Weedles.
So I deleted it.
7. I EXPERIENCED MY FIRST EVER FOOTBALL MATCH
I was told it was Manchester United’s first home game of the season, so it was a pretty important match apparently…
And somehow we managed to get seats in the ‘VIP area’ – I know that’s probably not what it’s officially called, but it was like being in First Class on a flight – very fancy.
We were sat with the type of people who wore suits to football matches, and who sat on fancy padded leather seats as opposed to the cold plastic ones
I had made it.
8. I WENT TO THE CIRCUS
I kindly got invited to the opening night of the Cirque du Soleil at the Trafford Center, and it was so so good!
When I was kid, I really wanted to be one of those girls that flung herself around on those hanging ribbons and wear all the glittery outfits, but instead I work in a corporate office with no glittery outfits of any kind
9. JETTED OFF TO TENERIFE
We booked a very last minute trip to Tenerife for a couple of days, purely to unwind, and do nothing but eat, drink and sleep by the pool
It was heaven
10. I’M STILL GOING TO THE GYM
I started the gym properly earlier this year, and I’m still going!
So it definitely wasn’t just a phase!
| I’M NOT DOING SO BADLY
So that was just a quick round up of a few of my favourite memorable moments of Summer 2016. It’s crazy to think how much you’ve actually achieved and experienced when you sit and really think about it.
I really need to re-read this post whenever I’m having a ‘what is my life!?’ moment, and realise I’m not doing so badly! x
