WHERE TO GET COFFEE IN MANCHESTER – TAKK

TAKK COFFEE - WHERE TO GET COFFEE IN MANCHESTER

| WHERE TO GET COFFEE IN MANCHESTER

Last weekend, we discovered an amazing little coffee place in Manchester’s Northern Quarter called Takk

Admittedly, the only reason we managed to find this place, was because we were Pokemon hunting, and we were following the path of Pokestops! – If you’re an avid Pokemon player too, you’ll understand!

| NORDIC INSPIRED

Inspired by their Scandi and Icelandic travels, Takk positions themselves as a cafe and creative space where they actively encourage people to come and work, with plenty of desk spaces, comfy chairs and breakout areas.

As you walk in, the atmosphere is extremely relaxed, the layout is very open and spacious, and there’s a very ‘cool’ inspirational vibe to the place.

The interior is well designed and contemporary with exposed bricks and low hanging lights, all surrounded by old school wooden desks and mismatched stools

You get the sense that alot of people come here to work from home, and there’s no pressure for them to leave as soon as they’re done eating or drinking. The staff are really friendly and polite, and I even saw them address some of the regulars, which was really nice as there seems to be a great community here.

We only stopped in for a quick coffee as we recharged our phones, but from what I could see around me – the food people were ordering looked delicious!

I got talking to the manager and he said they are constantly looking to use the best quality, locally sourced ingredient wherever possible – which I thought was a great business model and something amazing to shout out about!

We ordered a classic Cappuccino (I think it was around £2.80) which was full of flavour and beautifully presented – I love good coffee art!

They even sell their own coffee which I thought was really impressive, it made me think they are seriously passionate about their coffee

Our first impressions were great, so if you’re looking for something different, annd where to get coffee in Manchester that isn’t a high street chain, I would highly recommend you checking Takk out

I’ve already said we need to go back, to try their brunch menu! x

  • Thank you for posting this review! I had a meeting in Manchester yesterday so I went here beforehand for a brunch (eggs, bacon & avocado on toast). I like it a lot: very good food and coffee, and atmosphere just right (I was there 12ish). Basically – it’s a good job there’s nothing like this anywhere near my office.

I mentioned I’d read this review here on your blog (I am quite presentable and respectable IRL). They asked if I worked in fashion which was very sweet of them (I’m a statistician).
